LED phototherapy works by stimulating cellular activity. Depending on the wavelength (colour) of the light, treatment can stimulate fibroblasts that produce collagen within our skin to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and promote skin healing. It can also reduce activity of sebaceous glands and kill bacteria to reduce blemishes and acne.
A stand-alone session of Dermalux LED phototherapy which includes a cleanse and moisturise, will last 45 mins but LED Phototherapy can be added on to any facial treatment for an additional 20 mins.
Typically you will need between 6 and 12 Dermalux treatments depending on the condition being treated but results may be seen within the first few sessions.
The LED Phototherapy is a very pleasant experience! You will need to wear eye protection, but you can then lie back and imagine you are in the sunshine!
It is very rare to experience any adverse side effects from LED Phototherapy but some clients who are photosensitive may see irritation or rashes.
